For our second week in class, it seemed that we focused on two main ideas. The first being identity and second being lists. On the topic of Identity we read either Wikipedia pages or a Stanford encyclopaedia article of personality. Through those websites we had to take notes of what we read on the information. These articles talked about the complexity of the meaning behind the word "Identity". They bring up the issues people ask surrounding the philosophy of the word. Examples like " What makes up my identity?" or "Who am I". Though these are very basic questions, they also are very deep and complicated ones. Our next main idea was about list and poetry. We were shown a video where a women talks about how lists can make us become better poets. More specifically a list about " 10 things we know to be true". I thought that this was a difficult list to make for our creative writing. I decided to start with the most basic things that I know most definitely to be true, and worked from there. Such things as the magnitude of the universe around in comparison to our little blue planet. Next I decided on the uniqueness of people, and the stories they think define them. After, I thought about how humans manage to be the most intelligent beings on earth, and also yet, the dumbest. About how we deny the heating of our planet and then topped it off with how we underestimate the animals around us. Both these topics had us use critical thinking and our own thoughts and ideas to define them.
